Wanaka Transport and Toy Museum - New Zealand

Lake Wanaka Wanaka Transport and Toy Museum is a good way to bring out the kid in you.
The Wanaka Transport and Toy Museum is exactly as it sounds.
There is a huge collection of over 30,000 toys, cars, motorcycles and much more.
Why should you go here? First of all, if you have kids, it is a must.
Your kids will love running through the spacious museum and looking at all the old toys.
You will also get a nice kick out of some memerobilia from your own childhood.
I particularly enjoyed the collection of detailed doll houses.
The bicycles exhibit was huge from the ceiling and looked really interesting.
Yes, I found my old cruiser there! My son’s favorite exhibit was the small cars for children.
These are the tonka cars from 50 years ago.
I didn’t even realize that Ford made these in the past.
My husband, of course, liked the motorcycles best.
The only thing you may not like about this place is the gift shop.
Your kids will be begging you to buy them everything.
And yes, the gift shop does have everything.
I used this trip as a way to get my kids to behave during all our other Lake Wanaka activities.
They put up with the site seeing because their reward was a trip to the Toy Museum and a present from the gift shop.
