The Pump House Restaurant has got to be the best restaurant that I’ve ever eaten in.

It is located right on the Ord River and is actually an old pump house which has been converted into a restaurant.

It still has a complete factory feel to it, with the huge metal water pumps all throughout the dining area. We sat outside and were blessed with the best views of the outback.

We weren’t expecting a sunset that beautiful; it was really the perfect setting. The next best thing about the Pump House is the amazing food.

It is modern Australian/outback fare with a bit of a fusion twist in some of the dishes. I had a pan fried barramundi fillet with garlic-zucchini ravioli filled with cream cheese.

It was topped off with banana prawn and absolutely delicious. Don’t skip out on dessert because they have some exotic creations for your taste buds.

I tried a Bacardi banana mousse with black berry coulis and chocolate ice cream.

Simply divine! Entrees cost around $16 on average.

They are open for breakfast and lunch also, but you should be there for dinner and the sunset.
