In 2010 The Gap High will celebrate their 50th anniversary. This school fosters a small community atmosphere even though there are over 1000 students. Strong parental involvement is encouraged and performance results are impressive. Sitting in the foot-hills of Mt Coot-tha the location is picturesque and yet only 15 minutes from the centre of Brisbane City. The Gap also offers international student placement which include offering accommodation through a local family, called a home-stay. For oversees families interested in an Australian education for their child this is a great alternative to private boarding schools.
