Launceston Tamar Valley My family and I were thinking about going to France for a holiday. We decided on Launceston Tamar Valley instead.

The moment we got there, we forgot all about France! First of all, Launceston has a great romantic feel about it. It is the country’s third-oldest city and has quaint architecture in a lush valley near the river and sea. The climate is perfect and Launceston actually has the best air in all of Australia.

The population is just around 100,000 right now. This means that there are enough people for there to be great restaurants and shopping but without the crowded or rushed feel to it. The people who live in Launceston are really friendly and add to the city’s charm. The food in the Tamar Valley is one of the best attractions and the wine amazing.

You will also want to visit Cataract Gorge, which is just a short walk from the town center. You can get to Launceston directly by plane so it is one of the easiest holiday getaways you can take.

Also, you don’t even really need a car to get around Launceston because most of the attractions are so close by. This is a great place for a short trip or a major vacation.
