![]() Kununurra Ivanhoe Crossing is a must see while you are in Kununurra. The crossing is a causeway that was build over the Ord River, located just about a 15 minutes drive from the town center. It actually used to be a main road going to Wyndham but got submerged with water after an irrigation plan in the 1960s. You can actually cross the river in the dry season if you have a 4WD vehicle, though you might be hesitant about that when you see the big crocodiles lurking around! This is the place where all the locals go fishing. Especially on the weekends, this is a big hangout place for people. Amazingly, you can even see some people who are swimming near the falls, despite the crocs. This is a great place to spend a few hours with a fishing pole, talking to people from the area, and maybe snaring a barra. Phone: +61 8 9168 1177
