Taking a Belgian approach to both beer and food this café is in the heart of Brisbane and is a state winner for the Restaurant & Catering Association Queensland Awards for Excellence. The restored 1920’s art nouveau bar can be hired for private functions and events and offers the choice of the upper terrace or restaurant as private venues for up to 150 people. Featuring beers showing the traditional Belgian brewing techniques, this is a fantastic alternative to the local on the corner. It feels up-market and menus such as the Beer Appreciation cocktail selection suggest that is exactly the case. The restaurant’s seasonal menu features some mouth-watering selections at very reasonable prices. Their full menus can be seen on their website and function bookings can also be submitted this way. Very nice staff ... friendly and experienced. You can go in and tell them what you think you're after - they'll come up with a nice look and let u know what u need. Also have good sales which they'll advertise on their site so u can look good on a budget.
If you have a desire to learn Serbian, you can go to one of these weekend courses. It is mainly second-generation Serbs attending the classes.
